Morrill Tower

Morrill Tower is one of two identical residence halls along the banks of the Olentangy River at The Ohio State University. Built in 1965, Morrill Tower is a feat of engineering, architecture and geometry like no residence hall ever built before or since. It is the tower closest to the football stadium.

From the outside it sort of resembles a prison (or so I have been told multiple times) and from the inside it doesn’t look like any comparable object. My friends and I always joked that there wasn’t a right angle in the whole building. The end result is a building that could’ve only been dreamt up at the height of an acid trip.

Here’s a pic.

This is the dorm they usually stick incoming freshmen in for orientation. It’s incredibly disorienting the first time you go into a suite, don’t say I didn’t warn you…

Check out my other posts for specifics about the layout of the floors and suites of Morrill Tower.
